Open Arms Hispanic Ministry has been sharing God’s love by meeting needs of Hispanic immigrants in Wayne Co., Ohio and surrounding areas for twenty years. Open Arms started when a group of folks, including Raul Tadeo, noticed the growing number of Hispanic immigrants in the Wayne County area and felt called to minister to them.
Today, Open Arms employs Haroldo Nunes to do the work of welcoming the immigrants to our community. Open Arms staff provide transportation and translation for work, doctor’s appointment, court hearings, dentist appointments and more. Another significant focus of energy is aiding individuals to locate housing and work. Open Arms representatives have also partnered with local employers to develop better workplace environments for immigrants. Haroldo views his over-arching goal throughout all these services as communicating the love of Christ to people from all walks of life. This has lead to thriving Hispanic community that worships at Salem Mennonite Church in Orrville, the home church of Raul Tadeo. Raul retired in September 2021.
